Our work with the Siemens Skills for Sustainability Network last year demonstrated the urgent need for resources to enable faculty to embed sustainability in their curricula. Responding to that need, Siemens is now working with the UK’s Engineering Professors’ Council (EPC) and the Royal Academy of Engineering to devise a much-needed Sustainability Toolkit. Global Leaders engages students in experiential and intercultural learning with a focus on a specific community, theme or industry. The programme structure combines expert talks, skills workshops and a team challenge directly related to the theme, community or industry addressed by the programme. The June 2023 expedition brought STEM students from the UK’s University of Exeter to Toulouse, France, to address challenges for a diverse range of organisations.
